POOR RECEPTION EXPERIENCE NO ASSISTANCE OFFERED.
ROOM DIRTY STAINS ALL OVER THE CARPET TOWELS OLD NO MILK
UNCOMFORTABLE BED.

They left us at the airport waiting for a shuttle for over an hour and then offered no compensation without being pushed. We would not book thid place again.

I stayed there with my American girlfriend who was visiting NZ for the first time.
As we checked in we witnessed the receptionist being extemely rude to another guest who was making a complaint.
We booked the hotel for two reasons a) 2pm checkout (we had a late flight the next day) and b) 24 hour room service menu (we arrived at 11pm after a long day travelling from overseas.
On checking in we were told that checkout was 10am. Reluctently the person checking us in checked the internet website we had booked though to see it claerly said 2pm (muttering under his breath "it will say 10am, I'll get yelled at if I let you stay later"). He agreed to let us check out at 2pm even though this was not the normal checkout time.
We went to our room to order from the 24 hour menu only to be told at that time of night we could only have a toasted sandwich. We did not expect a full menu to be available at this time of night but both felt that the word "menu" clearly stated on the internet and in in room advertising implied that there would be a selection. Reluctantly we ordered two toasted sandwiches. Ten minutes later we were called in the room and told we could only have one sandwich as there was no bacon or ham left!!
The next morning we were called again at 10am by someone who curtly aked "are your leaving today?" We explained that we had booked the room on the information that we could check out at 2pm and that we had been told that was OK when we checked in. The person replied "I guess its OK as long as you are out by midday". We both thought this was odd as we had clearly been told that 2pm was fine when we checked in.
As we checked out I tried to convey some of our concerns to the lady checking us out. I did this in the nicest way possible as I work as a supervisor for a large cruiseline and frequently have to listen to guests concerens. She did not seem interested and only said "we do have a 24 hour menu". When I asked if the word "menu" implied a choice and not simply a sandwich she looked down and continued filling out the paperwork to check us out and did not give a reply. Another lady who was evidently a supervisor or manager was sitting in a nearby office with the door open and could clearly hear everything we were saying but did not feel the need to come and speak to me.
I did not feel the need to take things further as it was obvious no one could care less.
We continued our holliday in NZ staying at hotels in Rotorua, Christchurch, Queenstown and again in Auckland avoiding all Quality Inns.
Footnote- I'm raiting this hotel as 1 under the assumption that it it the lowest.

Excellent meal on the Sunday night before we flew out and the room was very good. The only down side was when we arrived in from Melbourne last evening and we rung for the pick up courtesy van we were told we had to get a taxi as we were not staying the night. Please inform guests that this is the case as we thought that to and from the airport were courtesy.

Reception & Waitressing Staff were pleasant. Food didn't live up to description on menu. eg I ordered a Rice Risotto, but all it was was plain rice (without any flavouring or vegies in it) placed neatly on plate then something rather bland on top of it. Also, your description of the hotel being 5 minutes from Auckland Airport is extremely misleading. Going there it took 20 minutes, coming back it took 30 minutes.

I'm afraid I cannot rate the quality Inn at Manuka as there is no quality to mention. After waiting over and hour at the airport and making 4 phone calls to find out why they hadn't come to pick us up we caught a taxi, which cost us $35.00. to get to a very poor quality motel with out airconditioning, very old furnishings and extremely rude staff. Especially the old lady in the morning, when I asked since they didn't pick us up from the airport could they drop us at the hire car depot, to be told that they were not there for our running around. This is not a motel I would even consider using again.

Always stay at this Hotel when in Auckland. Has big rooms, is clean, well priced, heaps of parking, and a great location so you miss all the heavy traffic.
