Room renovations good but boards under sides of queen bed base to take a king mattress were NOT a good idea. They squeek when sitting or lying/ turning on bed! Rectified by putting a waste-paper bin and yellow pages under the bed side. Other than that, we had another enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Clean tidy room, however was put in a room with no outside facing window which made me feel locked in..

I was very disappointed in the hotel. The bed was extremely hard, so hard it was impossible to sleep. Also the cold water ran at a trickle so when trying to have a shower, after turning on the hot water the shower was so weak that it was a trickle also.!! .What a disaster!. One good point was the room service food was excellent. But I wont be staying again.

Room nice and convenient for us for central Wellington location.
Just one issue with car parking since we were visiting last, do you have any parking in the hotel for guest only other than the public parking?

Good accommodation, though thought a bit pricey like only $30.00 off the full price per night.
The meals in house were very good.
Site seeing,The half day tour was also very good would of liked to have had a longer tour.
Thanks Sally.

Room a litlle smaller than I would like - but well appointed.
Great to have use of the common club room for coffee, breakfast, a place to have visitors. Especially good to have coffee, juice, water, food etc available at no additional cost.
Would suggest sushi cheese etc is properly covered (airtight) to keep it fresha and prevent it spoiling.

We always enjoy staying in the Superior Rooms at James Cook Hotel, and were pleased to have a glimpse of the harbour this time. We enjoy the central location of the hotel.
The purpose of our latest visit to Wellington was to view the Rita Angus Exhibition at Te Papa, which was amazing.

I booked for Friday and Sunday nights but when I arrived at the hotel they had me booked for Friday and Saturday nights. Not a problem this time but could have been disastrous!

We felt that the hotel was a little "shabby" for the rate we paid (and we paid a cheap rate). We would have been more disappointed if we had paid the full rate. Hotel is in need of a makeover in our opinion.

Overall - very very good. We always stay at James Cook now. Ease of access from motorway, attentive helpful staff, excellent restaurant. Superb views over harbour. The rooms are up to standard for the price. Central location in CBD is great.

I wonder when room 1513 was last refurbished?
The drapes were hideous and the decor was well.....
The food was well presented - unfortunately the chef's idea of 'rare' pork tenderlion differed from mine, it was however full of flavour. The rare venision which I had night two did come rare, was beautifully flavoured and tender.
The greatest asset in your business is your staff. They are unfailingly polite and always most helpful.

We were given an upgrade to a Directors Suite on arrival which we found extremely spacious and comfortable, extremely clean and great to have extra towels provide with out asking.

The James Cook is sited up on The Terrace and is a good place to stay. It is central to shopping and facilities on Lambton Quay and not too far from the central train station. Access to the hotel can also be gained through the James Cook Archade on Lambton Quay directly across from the Esprit shop. The rooms are standard in size with good sized beds. Last time I was here my room was a bit on the warm side but good nonetheless. I stay here when on Business. There is a resonable gym on L16 and restaurant facilities if you don't want to go out to eat. Room service breakfast is good and hotel service of a high standard.
