We loved our ground floor room leading out into the courtyard garden. The bed was comfortable, bathroom good, However, the room was rather hot and stuffy and the ceiling fan did little to cool it down. It really needed proper air conditioning.
We had a good meal with a large family group in your dining area, and all staff were pleasant and helpful.

I arrived on short notice and my wife booked it over the internet through shortrates.com It took a wee while for them to find my booking but were professional throughout. Loved the fact I could leave my car for a couple of days and to come back to it safe and sound. The room was adequate, nice and clean. However I would not have payed full rack rate for it. It's great they have vision to put cheap rates up.

Travel a lot with work and am involved in the review of industry training so always take a keen part in the performance of staff.
The room was reasonably stock standard. Everything that should be there was there without being anything special.
Was very impressed with the young lady that served us in the Restaurant on the Tuesday evening (22nd September) and filled in a paper based review form reflecting that fact.
Was not impressed however with the time it took to check out on the morning of the 24th. The clerk was very inefficient in working out what should be paid for and what should be charged back to my employer despite all of that being on the booking and me telling her as i presented to begin the process. She felt it nesessary to go through each item onthe account one by one asking how it should be treated. What should have taken two minutes ended up taking over fifteen.

Staff couldn't find booking both times. First time did manage to find booking second didn't and gave walk in rate obviously which was same rate so no loss but did prove lie of "discount rate" but then didn't get my 10% down payment that I had already paid. Rooms very dated. Would not stay at hotel again.

In all honesty I dont really like to gripe but unfortunately we found the service pretty poor. It wasnt busy on the evening that we checked in so we were looking forward to a quiet drink in the bar. We waited what seemed like forever and ended up at the bar across the road for a night cap instead. The room was fine but there was a bad smell lingering through the entire room that never left so we put up with it because we had already showered and settled in. Room service had forgotten what we needed by the time someone came, which was another pillow and an extra towel.
However the breakfast service was very good and the meal was great so there you go we got something nice back in the morning.
would we come back again, that depends on your response.

The TV didn't work. We asked several times for it to be fixed and someone eventually came after an hour but couldn't fix it. I felt we should have been given a discount because of this but no consideration was given. We were put in a smokers area instead of non-smokers. The room was old and badly in need of refurbishment. It was not a good experience.

I was very disappointed the sheets on my bed where so thin & worn that you could see through them and the other linen also looked old and not so fresh. Also my meal was very average, but the staff where all very pleasant and helpful. I also wasn't happy about having to pay $5 for parking over night. I will not be coming back to stay again or recommending your hotel.

I forgot that a hotel doesn't have amenities to enable one to cook in their own room. I expected a basic like a microwave oven at least but there wasn't one there. I was not happy about that. I found the Fijian Indian staff in the restaurant very, very nice. Friendly and helpful. For the price paid it was reasonable though. Perhaps you could get microwave ovens in the rooms? Otherwise I will look at alternative accomodation like a motel.

Pleasant staff, and accommodation. I was pleased to be able to park my car for the time I was out of the country, for a reasonable price, and to retrieve it again in good condition.
The Meal we had on return was very nice - though salad was too big with not enough crispy lettuce in it. (Something all current cafes need to address)
All staff encountered were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Staff very helpful and polite but we found hotel facilities and room in need of updating. Bedding with holes is not what you expect from the rating for the hotel. We were disappointed in overall quality of the hotel.

Grand Chancellor was our second-choice for a last minute overnight near Auckland Airport.We were surprised to have to pay for overnight guest parking,and the inconvenience of getting exit chits from Reception but found the room clean and spacious. The competent lass who served at the bar & brought our meal, and domestic staff we met in the morning were all graciously friendly.

It's difficult to give a useful rating when you don't indicate if a rating of "1" on a 5-point scale is high or low. The accommodation was fine and the service good. In mty reply "5" means "good".

I chose to pay the extra for a superior room.However was disappointed in the quality of presentation.
I would certainly not want to pay the full listed rate for this room.
I found the bathroom to be very dated and noted that the tiled area around the bath taps to have soap and body oil buildup.Also the hot tap on basin leaked.
Herbal teas would have been a nice option.
The passageways to the rooms also smelled damp and musty.I guess this is the concrete block construction and age of the building issue.

Overall we were very happy with our stay which met our expectations only with the exception of the restaurant menu which we both thought was limiting and below the standard of the hotel.

Although rated as 4* it certainly was not. We were pleased that it was just an overnight stay. The bathroom was not of the cleanest and it just felt that the amenities were "lack lustre". Would not use this particular hotel again.

Had 'dispute' with Hotel as to stated balance owing on print summary during which they tried to make me pay the full amount with the deposit being considered by them as your commission. In the end they accepted the amount as being correct. Otherwise will use service again.

I was perfectly satisfied with this hotel. I stayed for one night for meetings in August.
Its easy to get to by the shuttle bus from terminals (leaves every 30 minutes), and the rooms are of a decent 3/4 star standard. Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
It seems to be the best option near the airport, and I would stay there again if I have meetings in the vicinity. The hotel is nothing glamorous, but its a functional and comfortable airport hotel. I noticed they have 24 hour room service which is unusual in NZ.
