Activities include skiing (Mt Hutt and 5 other fields), golf ( 4 courses including Terrace Downs,) Rakaia River jetboating, Lakes, Tranzalpine to the West Coast, horseriding, hot air ballooning, hunting.
Gunyah is a historically listed house with period furniture and refinements. It has 5 large double bedrooms individually decorated, ensuite facilities. Lavish four-course silver-service dinners are prepared by European chef from the best of Canterbury's produce and to individual requirements.An elegant, private retreat to come home to after a day enjoying New Zealand’s most spectacular scenery.

From Christchurch, take Highway 73 (Arthurs Pass) to Darfield.
At the church turn left towards Mt Hutt.
Continue on State Highway 72 (Inland Scenic Route) through Glentunnel, over the Selwyn
