Quiet, clean and confortable
Efficient / courteous staff at reception, restaurant, and club lounge.
Room was ready at 9.00 am (usual check-in 2.00pm) when we called to drop off luggage. We were invited to use the room immediately. No problem with late check-out.
Club lounge facilities were good with a very attentive
staff member.

Requested a non-smoking room and was put in a smoking room on level 6. Having arrived late and unpacked before realising stuck with it. The room stunk and was old and tired.
Won't be planning a return to the Duxton.

Room very tried, Curtains had gaps at both ends and in the middle, Shower hose leaked at the wall fitting. TV very dated as was the menu. Bed and pillows ok. Street noise was noticeable.

The standard has dropped noticably since my last stay at the Hotel - which I think was about a year ago. However to be fair it was still a pleasure to be there. As last year the Hotel is in need of refurbishment in the rooms - things a getting rather tired!

Athough it was a wild weekend weather-wise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from the 8th floor was superb and the proximity to theatre,Te Papa & restaurants made it easy to scurry for cover and entertainment.

The staff were great - in particualr we took my 2 year old grandson into the grill where he got bored quite quickly. The food for him came very quickly and they were kind, tolerant and patient - they met all our needs
