Midway Motel The motel was fine. There was problems with the ShortRates booking though, as the motel did not get the booking! By Phil Ready. On 21-Sep-2011 Gwendoline Court Motor Inn Rotorua I appreciated the fact that the staff at Gwendoline managed to squueze us in when they were actually fully booked (booking error that was not their fault) and the service was good but the rooms left a lot to be desired. Although spacious and very clean, they are in desperate need of a revamp!! Peeling wallpaper, broken wall lining in spa room, broken tiles in spa, old carpet and drapes etc. All in all, nice quiet stay and good value for money paid. On 10-Jan-2011 SilverOaks Hotel Geyserland We were meant to get a room with a view like the room we previously had on our last visit but were given a room with no view. The room had a blind in it and it didint block out the light permantly on out side of the room wich was very annoying as no one like a light shining in on them while trying to sleep. And we ran out of toilet paper, in the middle of the night as there was only enough for one use. And there was no soap in the shower or bathroom. Also we were not told the spout pools now had a charge on them untill after usining them, The view and the pools were the whole reason we returned so i was very disapointed at not having a view, as stated in the booking we would.And the room was very noisy my kids were kept up to over then thirty with people splashing in the pool etc. I left a form with the complaints in it with the office lady when i checked out By yvonne schurink. Except that the shower area in the toilet is very slippery, but the staffs of this motel are helpful, they supplied us with 2 new rubber mats the day after. Good value for money. Easily accessible. When we arrived we were told that because of problems with the rooms we had been upgraded to a sister facility, the Silver Oaks Hotel Geyserland. Were given a room with no spa but great views of the Pohutu geyser and boiling mud pools. Our continental breakfasts were also upgraded to cooked breakfasts but we weren't made aware of that and didn't find out until we got home and read our email. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
